Playing Ivie's first NADAC Regular Run

NADAC judges in Calera, OK didn't like this teeter performance. Otherwise a nice run for a team that's been together for 5 weeks, methinks Innocent

Ivie's first NADAC Regular run

Nice run!  Since I was there in person, I have to add that there was NO doubt about the 20 fault teeter when judged from the side.  You can't see how far forward the dog is off the ramp from the front in the video, but there was an obvious call from the side!  Real nice dog and certainly will be a nice team.  I think the teeter was called in every run with a teeter, so that one will have to be worked on for NADAC qualifiers!

2O2O Teeter Performance

Since she came to me with a GORGEOUS, FAST 2O2O teeter, that's what it's going to stay!  All but 1 teeter has been called while in Calera with this girl (she got a TNG Q our first weekend there).

She's been doing the 2O2O teeter for 5 years and never gets called in USDAA...!!

So much for trying for a NATCH...we'll just stick with playing the teeter-less games in NADAC!!  Innocent

Re: 2O2O Teeter Performance

Nice run, and a nice team.  Five years together is a great experience!!!

Keeping track of ALL the rules from all the venues is difficult - please explain WHY that teeter was called.  I thought it was pretty well executed!

Re: Ivie's first NADAC Regular Run

In NADAC, NO part of the dog's body can cross the plane of the end of the teeter before it is resting on the ground.  As in, no feet off, no heads leaning across the end, nothing.  Dog has to stop 4-on the teeter in NADAC.

So, there ya have it -- !!!  I'm training my pup (8-mo) to drive to the end and lay down so hopefully we won't have this problem, but I really do focus on USDAA and I do NADAC for ring experience and "trying things out" that I might be too chicken to try in another venue like crazy lead-outs and distance work ;)

So I'm okay with just Q'ing in non-teeter classes :)  We Q'd 6 of 6 the last weekend we did NADAC, with 6 1st places, all non-teeter classes.

Re: Ivie's first NADAC Regular Run

Emily,

My labs do a 2o2o  on the teetor and havent been called. We do a lot of NADAC. So a stop with 4 on isnt required. The dog has to run to the end which makes the board hit the ground before he exits, so a running contact works as well.

Nice round, in the UK that see-saw wouldn't have been marked a lot of judges don't mark if they are close enough to the ground.
