Playing Impeccable Judging USDAA 2007

I only saw two classes this year, Steeplechase and Grand Prix Finals. But I thought the judging was impeccable. This video demonstrates the arduous task of judging the dogwalk for the big dogs.

Several times I've heard Scott Chamberlain say that a lot of judges give up on trying to judge both ends of the dogwalk. I reckon because they are overweight and not fit for the task at hand (my words not his). And that he prides himself on judging both ends.

Well he caught 3 big name handlers on the upside. The course seemed to be specifically designed for this purpose, with a straight approach to the dogwak coming from a tunnel.

Some people in the crowd questioned these calls, so I thought I'd check it out. And boy where they close calls. Indeed these three dogs missed the up contact by the slimmest of margins.
