Playing Bay Team Regional - GP - Please turn!

The opening sequence of round 1 of the Bay Team Grand Prix regional proved to be very problematic for the dogs. A jump was placed to the left of the #2 frustrating long lead outs.

Early in the day handlers tried to do a post turn from 4 to 5, calling their dogs off the tunnel and doing a rear cross over 5 to the dogwalk. The dogs had a lot of momemtum coming over #3 and #4 and locked onto the tunnel.

Later in the day handlers started forcing a front cross between #4 and #5. While not pretty, got them through.

Thanks Eric for posting all

Thanks Eric for posting all of this great footage for the Bay Team Regional. It's great to watch the East Coast dogs that we don't get to see on a regular basis. Best of all, it's free!

BT Regional

Eric,

What a great surprise!! The Susan Garret interview and the video are top notch. Took the sting out of being stuck at home waiting for the arrival of my first grand child. After watching the video, I knew I made the right call, to not risk being so far from home. No doubt in my mind, Bailey boy and I would have been sucked right into that tunnel. : )

Cheers, Jean

Does anyone have a course map for the opening?

The clip shows 3-4-5 (and 6) - I'd be interested to see the relative positions of 1 and 2 and the jump to the left of 2, in order to set it up and try out different handling options. I have an idea that the lead out handling a seminar group learned earlier this year from Stacy Peardot might be a good option in terms of giving dogs information early and avoiding the dog assuming tunnel after 4, but difficult to say without seeing the full opening sequence obstacle locations.
