It is becoming clear to me that the future of the internet and content publishing in general is online video. ABC, CBS, NBC and Fox are all offering their TV shows online for download. Google just bought YouTube, whose slogan is "Broadcast Yourself", for 1.6 billion dollars.
This brings us to agility. Agility Vision started with the idea of being television for agility, hence the name. Somewhere along the line I lost that original idea. The Google - YouTube thing has inspired me to get back to the original intention of Agility Vision. In the next two weeks a new feature on Agility Vision will makes it debut. The ability for anyone and everyone to upload their own videos!
It will be stupid proof, as simple as plugging in your MiniDV camcorder and pressing a button. Agility Vision will take care of encoding it for the web and all the other details. You will be able to "Broadcast yourself and your dog". The possibilities are endless and it will be interesting to see what creative ideas people come up with.
A few months back I was little down because I thought that Agility Vision should have more visitors. Well I was just over at the Clean Run website poking around and saw that they have 500 subscribers to the Digital Edition of Clean Run. Now when I think of the 1000 members of Agility Vision I feel a little better.
I appreciate everyone who comes and watches the videos. Soon you will be able to post your own videos, maybe you and your dog could be the next lonelygirl15.
On a related note, a virtual agility class for competition and pre-competition level dogs is getting ready to start monday November 6th, 2006 at Agility Dynamite. I've been filming Olga Chaiko's private agility lessons on Wednesdays for the last few months. Using these videos we will make a virtual or cyber agility class. You will be able to upload your own videos to get feedback. It is going to be super cool and cutting edge.
access to agility videos for the masses
Eric your latest thought here inspires me to gush a little bit and then I have to ask a question.  I've been delinquent in passing on to you how appreciative I am of your services - being a reliable videoing resource for me at trials, taking care of all the details in making dvd's that I can study, making my videos easy for me and my friends to get to online, single-handedly defeating the new millenium mind-set that even just information can't be had for free. THANKS.
I maintain my dog club's website's members information page, where people's dogs and titles and brags are listed. We also encourage club members to send me photos and links to personal webpages about their dogs, that I post next to their titles. I'd LOVE to also link to each dog's agility vision video index if that dog happens to have been one of your clients - it seems a natural extension of the photo link concept! And now you're offering to post non-agility-vision videos on your website! Would it be okay for my dog club webpages to link to this stuff?

A test version is now online! Just waiting for final approval and it will be live.
Karey thanks for the kind words. You can link to whatever you want.
This is a fabulous idea
This is a fabulous idea Eric! You are right, the possibilities are endless.
I love watching your vdeos. I originally started to watch my dogs family compete, since I am on the other side of the world to many of them. Not only do I continue to enjoy doing this, but I am also really enjoying reading the discussions and learning from the sequences you put together on how people handle specific challenges.
Having just got my own video camera, I am starting to really appreciate the outstanding quality of your work. It's not as easy as it looks, LOL.
Well done & thank you for giving us this opportunity. I will look forward to contributing.
