About the Seminar
A must-see for all agility competitors, this video is an actual seminar presented by Linda Mecklenburg and recorded live by Eric Larson at the Clean Run training facility in March 2009. Linda describes the fundamentals of her highly acclaimed Awesome Paws Handling System (APHS), discussing both the theoretical knowledge and the basic foundation skills that are needed for success. While the focus of the seminar is understanding and applying AHPS, there is a wealth of information provided that will benefit all handlers regardless of their background.

The six-hour presentation is presented in its entirety. The seminar consists of three sections. It begins with a lecture on handling theory with information on how our dogs naturally read us and respond to our cues. The second section is basic foundation training that is uniquely required by the APHS, but the concepts apply to all dogs. The third section focuses on demonstrations of how to perform various handling challenges using the knowledge and skills discussed in the first part of the seminar with an emphasis on basic motion cues.

About the Presenter
Linda Mecklenburg is internationally recognized as one of the leaders of the sport of dog agility. She has represented the USA in international competition on 12 occasions, competing 10 times at the FCI Agility World Championships and once at Crufts for the AKC, and twice at the World Cup for the USDAA. Linda has earned both gold and silver medals in the Team competition at the FCI Agility World Championships. In addition, she has placed in the top ten overall in the Individual competition on 3 occasions with two different dogs. Linda has been successful with multiple dogs in multiple competitive formats including the AKC Nationals, AKC World Team Tryouts, AKC Agility Invitational, USDAA World Championships, the USDAA National DAM Team Tournament and more.

Linda is recognized as one of the premier agility instructors in the United States. Her students have achieved top honors at the FCI and IFCS Agility World Championships and the AKC, USDAA, NADAC and ACA National Championships. With much national and international experience herself, Linda is in a unique position to offer guidance to those that wish to compete at highest levels.
