Produce the Body!

The Republicans have now written a law to make sure that George W. Bush will not be prosecuted for violations of habeas corpus in our overseas torture prisons and concentration camps. The fundamental tenants of the U.S. Constitution will not apply in our conduct abroad.

The Death of Mr. Clean

Arthur Haggarty has passed this past June. He was known mostly as Captain Haggarty. I never did discover where this honorific came from. At one point he was involved in training military dogs. So perhaps he was in the military (I’d bet… the Army).

Politics

How did we wind up with government for whom nothing good matters? The poor don’t matter; equality doesn’t matter; civil rights don’t matter; the Geneva Convention doesn’t matter; the environment doesn’t matter; education doesn’t matter; health care doesn’t matter; retired people don’t matter.

My Adventure: 2006 CPE Nationals - part 1 of 2

I have already posted about my trip across the country to attend the CPE Nationals on my website as a blog.  I decided that I would like to also start blogs on agilityvision, and it seemed that this was the perfect one for me to start with as I already had it written Smile

Introductions

Howdy, all. I figured since I'm given a blog on this here site, I may as well put it to good use!

The name's Katherine, but everyone calls me Cat. I'm a junior handler living in Massachusetts and I currently am owned by one dog, an English Springer Spaniel named Tessie. She's my first dog and has been such an amazing learning experience. Together, we do agility, obedience, and showmanship, and we soon hope to branch out into freestyle. My high school has a Canine Science program, and this is my major. I hope to train dogs full time.

Intervention

In March of 2005 while driving home from somewhere, I forget where, I heard a broadcast on National Public Radio. This was a very exciting thing for me as the narrator described a Massive Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game (MMORPG) called World of Warcraft!

Adventures in the Netherlands - Part 3 (The End)

Ok - now for the last installment of our trip:

The championships were held over three days with competition for the All Around events and the Biathalon events on the Saturday and Sunday and the competition for the Team event on the Sunday.

We're home - adventures in the Netherlands Part 1

This may take a bit of time so I'll split my account over a few entries: On Friday 28th April Piper and I flew into Hamilton, ON to attend our team practice before leaving for Holland on the Sunday afternoon. I have to say that I was very impressed with the Facility at Say Yes. First of all the grass was green!! Remember that I am from Alberta where spring had yet to really arrive so we had not really practiced on grass yet... My turf runners are still full of arena dirt... We spent that evening putting together the team kit bags with the uniforms and other misc stuff that we had bought for the team.
