Public hammering of judges

So, there is a  rumor going around this morning that as a result of the very public hammering that Karen Gloor took for her teeter judging in the GP finals, she has resigned from the USDAA judging corps. It may or maynot be true. But it brings to mind my big objection to the practice of "just putting it out there" on the internet.

Decaff & Blast both left the teeter early in Grand Prix Finals

This is something that I take no joy in writing about. But I feel it neccessary. I'm not picking on the judge, the point of the article is to suggest we need instant replay.

From the freeze play, it seems pretty certain that the winners of the 16" (Susan Garrett & Decaff) & 22" (Rhonda Carter & Blast) Grand Prix Finals both left the seesaw well before it hit the ground.

Getting the calls right at USDAA Nationals

Scott Chamberlian, known for not being afraid of making the tough calls in the finals, continues to get the calls right. Here are two examples from Steeplechase Finals at this years (2006) USDAA Nationals.
