European Open 2009, yea, we'll be there!
MARK YOUR CALENDARS! July 25th and 26th!!!!!!
We just got word from the 2009 European Open Organizers that we're welcome to do coverage at the event! So we accepted, of course. So, for right now, sit tight, get excited and see some of the best dogs in the world compete!
A little back info. I attended and competed at the 2008 European Open last year for the first time. It's a blast to sum it up! It's not well known in the US but overseas it's a very popular event. Some countries even consider making their EO team just as important as making their FCI team. For me it's about running under as much pressure as possible and being able to run clean! Last year I was 3/3 on Saturday placing no lower then 26th out of 200+ mini dogs and placing 26th in the finals. Not bad for an 8 year old! Sunday we had an 'R' in each team run because I walked my courses in the morning when the grass was dry and by the time we ran there was easily 8" of mud in the Jumpers ring. Still, we didn't E and our team ended up in 26th place out of 60 something dogs. Anyway, this event is a high profile event... hosting some big FCI winners. It's a pretty well kept secret in the US but we're going to change that!
We're providing coverage for the 2009 European Open Agility Championships in the Netherlands! I'm really excited to be able to share this event with everyone in the agility world as it's truly one of the best! Last year Silas Boogk from Germany won both the small and large Individual Overall awards, winning both finals... it doesn't get any more exciting then this!
Anyway, more information will come soon. We just bought our tickets! I'll be there competing with my dog Jeep. We have a fantastic team with Anne Stocum and Breeze, Janneke Case and Binkie and Suzi Cope and Jib. I'm planning on doing some blogging while over there but we'll see how it goes. The coverage will probably be a bit delayed since it's hard to know if we'll actually have internet access at the site but it doesn't really matter... the time difference is 5 or 6 hours and we'll post whatever we have when we get back at the hotel. As usual it's the quality programming you can expect from agilityvision.com!
I'm attaching some of my runs and a few of Silas and one of Silvia Trkman (note: La was still injured at this event so she's running Lo and Bu but La is back to her normal self!!!!!!)... I need longer legs :)
