Dog Events Online credit card server is as of this writing (Sept 12, 06) insecure. I was just going to enter an event that closed tomorrow and I got the following error.
Dog Events Online error: Screen shot from Dog Events Online when I tried to enter a trial with credit card.
It seems that there 'Security Certificate' expired on September 8th, 2006.
Dog Events Online - expired certificate: undefined
Why they wouldn't have a valid security certificate I don't know. I certainly don't feel comfortable transmitting my credit card information over the internet using unsecure channels.
In addition I recently read the following message on AgileDogs:
I am the chairperson for a USDAA trial that is coming up in Pensacola, FL at the beginning of October and I am having trouble with Dog Events Online. The event was eventually posted on their calendar (after many weeks of e-mails and calls) but now I find that the exhibitors who are trying to access the site cannot either download the premium, mail-in their entries OR do an instant entry which defeats the purpose of it being there.
This is my first time trying to get an event on their website so I wanted to ask whether other people have also come across this problem with DOE. After experiencing weeks of delay with getting the event on the website I am afraid we will not get this sorted out prior to the closing of the trial on 9/22/2006.
Please e-mail me your experiences privately and any help you can shed on this problem we are having or whether we should just give up on this site.
Thanks much
Suzanne Wesley

I did not see any follow up replies, so not sure what the deal was.
Maybe it is time for another online event website to start up? I have always thought that the 10% 'convience charge' was a little steep too.
