Adventures in the Netherlands - Part 3 (The End)

Ok - now for the last installment of our trip:

The championships were held over three days with competition for the All Around events and the Biathalon events on the Saturday and Sunday and the competition for the Team event on the Sunday.

Adventures in the Netherlands Part 2

Boarding the plane was reminiscent of an episode of the Amazing Race as we waited until the last minute to board rather than leave the dogs unattended. In the end though we all made it safely to Amsterdam with nothing or no one going astray. The drive to Oosterhaut was uneventful and we settled easily into the hotel. A quick nap later and we hit the shops in the town center - depleting the local grocery store of most of their supply of bottled water.

We're home - adventures in the Netherlands Part 1

This may take a bit of time so I'll split my account over a few entries: On Friday 28th April Piper and I flew into Hamilton, ON to attend our team practice before leaving for Holland on the Sunday afternoon. I have to say that I was very impressed with the Facility at Say Yes. First of all the grass was green!! Remember that I am from Alberta where spring had yet to really arrive so we had not really practiced on grass yet... My turf runners are still full of arena dirt... We spent that evening putting together the team kit bags with the uniforms and other misc stuff that we had bought for the team.

Now 5 days to go...!

So now I am down to only 5 days to go before I head to Ontario for the last team practice and only 7 days to go before we head to Amsterdam! Yikes!

This weekend we held our club's Spring AAC trial. The theme for this trial was a pyjama party and it is really amazing how comfortable it is to run agility trials in your PJs! Many people got into the spirit of things - some bedroom attire a bit more scary than others LOL! The local charity shops did a booming business last week so I am told, but I suspect that was just a convenient cover up (perhaps literally - there was a no nudity clause in the premium!!).

13 days and counting...

This is something new for me but I thought that I would try it...

In 13 days Piper and I will be setting off on our big adventure - on April 28th we climb aboard our flight to Hamilton where our destination is Say Yes and the last team practice before the AAC WT heads out to Holland for the IFCS World Agility Championships... I never thought that time could fly by so fast!!
