Agility Idea Book

I’ve been pounding at the keyboard in my basement working a series of 16 hour days finishing up… Agility Training for a Small Universe. It’s now officially on my web-store www.dogagility.org/store. You know, I’m getting pretty good at this electronic document thing. This one has a special spin. I’ve organized well over 800 sequences by the dimensions of floor space. On any one of the images if you click the box at the upper-right corner of the course design it will spawn into Clean Run Course Designer. It will be a powerful and important tool for backyard trainers and agility instructors interested in unique challenges and sequencing ideas.

You know, in the next volume of Small Universe I’m pretty determined to publish no fewer than a thousand sequences. I’ve been “mining” (or, you could call it an archeological dig) on my computer. And I’m pretty sure that I can probably come up with at least a couple more volumes if I never design another unique sequence.

I hate to make the publication of the Just For Fun Agility Rules and Regulations a matter of “oh by the way,” but, oh by the way, I also have finished up the first draft of these rules. It has been my mission for many years now to establish a venue for agility that is affordable and accessible to everyone. This is really a difficult mission in a world that is constantly driven by ambition and profit. The real trick is to make the venue attractive for the agility franchise stakeholder rather than privately held interests (like the big organizations). Time will tell if I’ve accomplished this goal. More news will be forthcoming.

60 X 40

Here are a couple of fun little sequences if you want to torture your dogs (or your students and their dogs) on weave pole entries. It’s one of the many sequences that have gone into my new publication.

Another possibility…

50 X 30

I always find it interesting that what appears to be straightforward can be tweaked to become quite challenging… with just a bit of imagination.
