A Broken Widget

I approached the morning with some optimism... I've got about eight weblog entries that have been unposted because the Widget that allows me to insert a graphical image was not working. I got it in my head that it was the new firewall / virus software that I put on my computer. After several years of growing weary with McAffee's intrusive and resource hogging system, I put on something called Cyber-Defender. It was a fairly awful thing that did a thorough job but was completely intrusive with my computing. I might be working in Word... and it would take the top window "out of focus"... you know, the window I'm typing in.

So I've removed Cyber-Defender from my computer so that now my only firewall / virus protection is what's native in MS Windows. And you know what?

The insert graphics widget still doesn't work.

I'm very busy with camps and weekend assignments these days. I hardly have time to wrestle with technical issues. But you know how it goes. Priorities sometimes set themselves; getting ooched to the top of the butt-first list because they simply outweigh everything else.

I may actually have to move my web-log elsewhere. Though I hate changing things like my email addy and my address because people know how to find me. It's the same with my web log. But if I can't embed pictures it's really kind of a stopper eh?

I have camp going this week so I don't have much time to deal with anything. I'll shake things out by Friday morning.

Bud Houston
